Transforming a bungalow

Bumgalow transformed with roofline to new extension

A modest 1970s two-storey chalet bungalow has been extended and remodelled to provide a modern family home.

The steeply sloping site has been use to create accommodation over three internal floor levels with a new light central staircase linking the spaces. The lower ground floor is opened up from front to back for a large open plan kitchen-dining-living room accessing the rear garden.

The front of the house has a gabled roofline stepping up the hill, with a striking view of Guildford Cathedral from the front entrance.
