New Home, London SW19

pano.jpg

This fully accessible home in French-Canadian style sits on a unique site directly overlooking the mature woods of the protected common land opposite.

The house is laid out over three storeys plus basement. Its facade is composed of natural limestone and handmade brick forming deep reveals for slim metal windows. Its mansard roof is in natural slates with dormers in lead.

The double height entrance hall features a bespoke staircase with seamless handrail crafted in Co. Wicklow, Ireland and acts as a statement of intent for the spaces beyond.

The rear of the property assumes a more informal character, where a single storey living space extends the full width of the building beneath a living, green roof. Large ranges of doors open up to the rear garden and rooflights open up to the sky, tracking the sun's progress.

The whole of the top floor is an exceptional master bedroom suite inspired by contemporary London hotel design with woodland views to the front and glimpses of high rise central London to the rear.
