New science laboratories for senior school

The re-organisation and refurbishment of physics labs at St John's School Leatherhead.

The initial phase of a series of projects to update the classrooms in Hamilton Building to provide modern, technology-enabled science classrooms, each with its own character expressed through a unique colour scheme and arresting large-scale graphics.

Internal partitions and low ceilings were cleared away to make way for bright open spaces featuring teaching media walls, mobile desks with power provision and glazed screens that open up full height views between classrooms across the physics department.

Acoustic ceilings, increased natural light and introduction of a combined MVHR system all contribute to an energy efficient, comfortable and exciting new learning environment within the shell of a 1950s building.
